Language Development
he main aim of the Helen O’Grady Drama programme is the self-development of children through the medium of drama. It encompasses an exciting, carefully crafted curriculum and allows children to develop ongoing confidence and verbal communication skills: the vital life skills young people need in an ever changing world.
Every child is unique at the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy. All students are treated equally and given the opportunity to shine, regardless of their level of confidence or ability.
With a focus on personalization, each teacher at the Academy seeks to gradually integrate their students within the group until they are fully immersed in the fun classroom environment and unaware of any inhibitions they may have had before joining the class.
Through the Helen O’Grady Drama programme, children begin to understand the importance of the spoken word and also body language. Among other things in class, they improvise plays, create stories, develop characters and work with scripted pieces: all this while making new friends and having fun! This creative method of teaching facilitates in meeting the individual needs of students, fostering their creativity and inspiring confidence and a commitment to learning.
